How does Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir work?
Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir is an HIV ARV combination medication. It contains three medications that prevent HIV from infecting your cells and making copies of itself. Doravirine is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI). It stops reverse transcriptase, an important enzyme needed for the virus to make DNA (genetic material). Lamivudine and tenofovir are nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). They insert themselves into the virus’ DNA and stop the DNA-making process.
How do I take Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir?
Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir is typically taken as 1 tablet by mouth once a day with or without food. Each tablet contains 100 mg of doravirine, 300 mg of lamivudine, and 300 mg of tenofovir.
Is it safe for me to take Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir?
Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir is contraindicated when co-administered with drugs that

Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir is contraindicated in patients with a previous
hypersensitivity reaction to lamivudine.

- Dizziness

Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Liver problems if you have hepatitis B and suddenly stop taking Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir: fever, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, dark urine, yellowing of your skin or eyes
- Kidney problems: swelling in your legs and feet, difficulty urinating, confusion, bone or muscle pain, pain in the arms or legs

The following medications may interact with Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir:
- Because Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir is a complete regimen, co-administration with other antiretroviral medications for treatment of HIV-1 infection is not recommended
