How does NOXAFIL work?
NOXAFIL is an antifungal medication that slows the growth of the fungus causing your infection by damaging the protective outer layer of the fungus.
How do I take NOXAFIL?
NOXAFIL is typically taken as follows. On the first day, take 3 tablets (300 mg total) of NOXAFIL by mouth twice a day with food. After that, take 3 tablets (300 mg total) by mouth once a day with food. You will take this dose until your risk of getting a fungal infection is lower.
Is it safe for me to take NOXAFIL?
NOXAFIL is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication if you have:
Known hypersensitivity to posaconazole or other azole antifungal agents.
Coadministration with certain medications that affect its metabolism, such as pimozide and quinidine.
NOXAFIL oral suspension is contraindicated in patients with known or suspected Hereditary Fructose Intolerance (HFI).
