- Plaque psoriasis – lotion and foam only
- Other skin inflammation conditions – cream and ointment only

Halobetasol Propionate is a very strong corticosteroid. It helps treat flare-ups of skin conditions like psoriasis by lessening inflammation in the body and calming down the immune system.
How do I take Halobetasol Propionate?
Halobetasol Propionate is dosed as follows:
- Cream or ointment: Adults and children over 12 years old should apply a thin layer to the affected area(s) once or twice daily for up to 2 weeks
- 0.05% lotion (Ultravate) or 0.05% foam (Lexette): Apply a thin layer to the affected area(s) twice daily for up to 2 weeks. The lotion can be used for adults and children 12 years or older, but the foam should only be used for adults at least 18 years old
- 0.01% lotion (Halobetasol Propionate): Adults at least 18 years old should apply a thin layer to the affected area(s) once daily for up to 8 weeks
