PLETAL is a phosphodiesterase III inhibitor (PDE-3 inhibitor) that is used to treat intermittent claudication (pain in legs when you walk or exercise).
How does PLETAL work?
PLETAL is a phosphodiesterase III inhibitor (PDE-3 inhibitor) which stops platelets from clumping together in the blood, and helps relax blood vessels in the legs. This helps relieve pain and allows for more movement.
How do I take PLETAL?
PLETAL is typically taken as 100 mg by mouth two times a day on an empty stomach. You should take it at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after you eat breakfast and dinner.
Is it safe for me to take PLETAL?
PLETAL is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication if you have heart failure.

PLETAL Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with PLETAL. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Allergic reaction: trouble breathing, hives, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat
- Very low blood pressure: dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, blurry vision, fainting
- Abnormal heartbeat: racing heart
- Changes in your blood cell counts like thrombocytopenia or leukopenia
