What is Mavorixafor used for?

Mavorixafor is a CXC chemokine receptor 4 antagonist indicated in patients 12 years of age and older with WHIM syndrome (warts, hypogammaglobulinemia, infections and myelokathexis) to increase the number of neutrophils and lymphocytes.

How does Mavorixafor work?

Mavorixafor blocks a certain receptor in your immune system called the CXC Chemokine Receptor 4 (CXCR4). This increases the number of certain white blood cells that are moving around in your body. These white blood cells help your immune system fight off infections.

How do I take Mavorixafor?

You will take 300 mg or 400 mg of Mavorixafor once daily on an empty stomach after an overnight fast, and at least 30 minutes before food. Your dose is based on your weight.

Is it safe for me to take Mavorixafor?

Mavorixafor is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA approved indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. The following medications may interact with Mavorixafor: CYP2D6 substrates: Use of Mavorixafor with drugs that are highly dependent on CYP2D6 for clearance is contraindicated. Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors: Reduce Mavorixafor daily dosage. P-gp inhibitors or moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors: Monitor more frequently for Xolremid adverse reactions and reduce Mavorixafor daily dosage if necessary. Strong CYP3A4 Inducers: Avoid use. CYP3A4 or P-gp substrates: Monitor more frequently for substrate adverse reactions unless otherwise recommended.
