By raising the levels of C1 esterase inhibitor in the blood, c1 esterase inhibitor [recombinant] helps to treat sudden swelling attacks.
How do I take C1 Esterase Inhibitor [recombinant]?
The typical dose of c1 esterase inhibitor [recombinant] is 50 units/kg of body weight, with a maximum of 4,200 units per dose, given as an injection into the vein slowly over 5 minutes. For people with a body weight of 84 kg (184 lbs) or more, use the maximum dose of 4,200 units. A second dose can be given if the attack symptoms don’t go away. Don’t take more than two doses in a 24-hour period.
