Side effects of erythromycin include gastrointestinal discomfort, such as diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting, pancreatitis, decreased appetite, dizziness, headache, hearing impairment, insomnia, skin rashes/reactions, paresthesia, taste altered, vasodilation and vision disorders

Are there any Interactions of Erythromycin stearate with other drugs?

Erythromycin interacts with tolterodine, amisulpride, astemizole, cisapride, mizolastine, domperidone, pimozide, terfenadine, ergotamine or dihydroergotamine, chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine, colchicine, ivabradine, Typhoid vaccine, any medicine known to cause QT prolongation or Sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS), medicines that are strong inducers of cytochrome P450 (CYP) and may reduce the efficacy of erythromycin (e.g. rifampicin, rifabutin, phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, St. John\u2019s wort, direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) such as apixaban, dabigatran, edoxaban, rivaroxaban, statins, Calcium channel blockers (amlodipine, diltiazem, felodipine, lercanidipine, nifedipine or verapamil), Digoxin and medicines known to cause hypokalaemia, such as diuretics, corticosteroids, or xanthines

Take erythromycin at regular intervals and finish the course even if your symptoms improve. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive or operate machinery. Seek medical advice in the event of an adverse reaction or if any other new symptoms develop.

Erythromycin does not affect fertility in men or women and does not stop any type of contraception from working, however if erythromycin makes you vomit or have severe diarrhoea for more than 24 hours, your contraceptive pills may not protect you from pregnancy
