  • Inflammation in the back of the eye not caused by an infection

How does Ozurdex work?

Ozurdex is a corticosteroid that’s similar to a hormone that your body naturally makes, called cortisol. It lowers swelling (inflammation) and other immune responses that can cause you pain, discomfort, or harm.

How do I take Ozurdex?

  • Ozurdex is an intravitreal implant that should be carried out under controlled aseptic conditions. Following the intravitreal injection, patients should be monitored for elevation in intraocular pressure and for endophthalmitis

Is it safe for me to take Ozurdex?

Ozurdex is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects.   • Ocular or periocular infections
  • Glaucoma
  • Torn or ruptured posterior lens capsule
