How does CYMBALTA work?
CYMBALTA is a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). It’s thought to help improve mood and pain by raising the level of chemicals called serotonin and norepinephrine in your brain.
How do I take CYMBALTA?
CYMBALTA is typically ranges in dose from 30 mg to 60 mg by mouth once daily. Sometimes, your physician might divide your total daily dose into two smaller doses to be taken twice daily.
Is it safe for me to take CYMBALTA?
CYMBALTA is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should not use this medication if you have taken an MAOI within the past 14 days or are currently being treated with linezolid or intravenous methylene blue.

- Severe skin reaction: blisters, peeling rash, sores
- Liver damage: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, severe stomach pain, yellowing of skin or eyes
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on CYMBALTA
The following medications may interact with CYMBALTA:
- Potent inhibitors of CYP1A2 should be avoided
- Potent inhibitors of CYP2D6 may increase CYMBALTA concentrations

CYMBALTA use during the third trimester use may increase risk for symptoms of poor adaptation (respiratory distress, temperature instability, feeding
difficulty, hypotonia, tremor, irritability) in the unborn baby. There is a pregnancy exposure registry that monitors the pregnancy outcomes in women exposed to antidepressants, including CYMBALTA, during pregnancy.
