How do I take Zavzpret?
Each Zavzpret spray contains 10 mg of zavegepant.
The typical dose is 1 spray (10 mg) in one nostril as needed for when you have a migraine attack. The maximum dose is 1 spray in a 24-hour period.
Is it safe for me to take Zavzpret?
Zavzpret is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you.

Common side effects of Zavzpret:

Serious side effects are rare with Zavzpret. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
Serious allergic reaction: hives, rash, blisters, skin reddening, swelling of the lips or tongue, difficulty breathing
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Zavzpret
The following medications may interact with Zavzpret:
- Avoid use with drugs that inhibit OATP1B3 or NTCP transporters.
- Avoid use with drugs that induce OATP1B3 or NTCP transporters.
- Avoid use of intranasal decongestants; if unavoidable, administer
- intranasal decongestants at least 1 hour after Zavzpret
- administration.

It is not known if Zavzpret can harm your unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you become pregnant while taking Zavzpret. You and your healthcare provider will decide if you should take Zavzpret while you are pregnant.
