How does TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE work?
TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE is a beta blocker that lowers the amount of fluid in the eye. When there’s less fluid inside the eye, the eye pressure goes down.
How do I take TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE?
The typical starting dose of TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE is 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily. If your eye pressure comes down and stays down, your optometrist or ophthalmologist might lower your dose to 1 drop in the affected eye(s) once a day.
Is it safe for me to take TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE?
TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication if you have any of the following:
- Asthma
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Sinus bradycardia (slow heart rate)
- Second- or third-degree heart block
- Heart failure
- Cardiogenic shock

Common side effects of TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE:
- Temporary burning or stinging in eye after using
- Red eyes
- Crusty lashes
- Eye pain
- Feeling like there’s something in your eye
TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Trouble breathing: shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness
- Heart failure: shortness of breath; fatigue; swelling in the legs, ankles and feet
- Allergic reactions: rash around your eyes or face, closing of the throat, hives, swelling
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE
The following medications may interact with TIMOPTIC OCUDOSE:
- Concomitant use with systemic beta-blockers may potentiate systemic betablockade
- Oral or intravenous calcium antagonists may cause atrioventricular conduction disturbances, left ventricular failure, and hypotension
- Catecholamine-depleting drugs may have additive effects and produce hypotension and/or marked bradycardia
- Digitalis and calcium antagonists may have additive effects in prolonging atrioventricular conduction time.
- Potentiated systemic beta-blockade (e.g., decreased heart rate) has been reported during combined treatment with Quinidine and timolol
