Thyrotropin Alfa works by measuring the level of a substance in your body (thyroglobulin) that is produced if cancer cells are present. For thyroid cancer, it helps thyroid tissue cells take up radioactive iodine, which slows or stops the spread of cancer cells.

A two-injection regimen is recommended:

• Thyrotropin Alfa 0.9 mg is administered intramuscularly,
• Followed by a second 0.9 mg intramuscular injection 24 hours later.
