How does Thyrogen work?
Thyrogen works by measuring the level of a substance in your body (thyroglobulin) that is produced if cancer cells are present. For thyroid cancer, it helps thyroid tissue cells take up radioactive iodine, which slows or stops the spread of cancer cells.
How do I take Thyrogen?
A two-injection regimen is recommended:
- Thyrogen 0.9 mg is administered intramuscularly,
- Followed by a second 0.9 mg intramuscular injection 24 hours later.
