The starting dose is 100 mg by mouth three times a day.

Tasmar Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with Tasmar. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Serious liver damage: yellowing of the skin or eyes, pale colored stools, loss of appetite, persistent nausea, tiredness, low energy, dark urine, itchiness, tenderness in the upper right side of your stomach
- Severe muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis): muscle aches, soreness, cramping, dark-colored urine
- Symptoms similar to neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS): very high fevers, irregular pulse, sweating, muscle stiffness, confusion, changes in blood pressure
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Tasmar
The following medications may interact with Tasmar:
- Drugs Metabolized by Catechol-O-Methyltransferase (COMT): Tasmar may influence the pharmacokinetics of drugs metabolized by COMT. A dose reduction of such compounds should be considered when they are co-administered with Tasmar.
- Due to its affinity to cytochrome P450 2C9 in vitro, Tasmar may interfere with drugs whose clearance is dependent on this metabolic pathway, such as tolbutamide and warfarin
