TAGRISSO is an EGFR inhibitor that is used to treat:
Metastatic NSCLC with specific EGFR mutations as initial treatment or in those no longer responding to other oral EGFR inhibitors NSCLC with specific EGFR mutations (given after surgery to remove the entire tumor)
How does TAGRISSO work?
TAGRISSO is an EGFR inhibitor, meaning it blocks the activity of EGFR. More specifically, it targets and blocks the cells with the mutated EGFR (the cancer cells). As a result, the cancer cells can’t grow and/or spread as well. TAGRISSO is unique because sometimes it can still work in tumors that no longer respond well to treatment by other EGFR inhibitors.
How do I take TAGRISSO?
The usual dose of TAGRISSO is 80 mg by mouth once a day.

TAGRISSO is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you.

Common side effects of TAGRISSO:
- Low white blood cell count
- Low platelets
- Low red blood cells
- Diarrhea
- Acne-like rash
- Muscle aches/pain
- Nail changes
- Dry skin
- Mouth blisters and pain
- Fatigue
- Cough
TAGRISSO Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with TAGRISSO. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Serious lung problems: sudden cough, fever, trouble breathing, tightness in chest
- Serious skin reactions: painful blisters, skin wounds, peeling skin, fever, muscle aches
- Serious heart problems: heart failure, fluid in the lungs, trouble breathing, swelling in the legs, severe fatigue
Serious blood problems: sudden fatigue, bruising, bleeding, fever
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on TAGRISSO
The following medications may interact with TAGRISSO:
- Strong CYP3A Inducers: Avoid concomitant use. If not possible, increase TAGRISSO to 160 mg daily in patients receiving a strong CYP3A4 inducer

Is TAGRISSO safe in pregnancy?
TAGRISSO can harm your unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you become pregnant during treatment with TAGRISSO or think you may be pregnant.
Females who are able to become pregnant should have a pregnancy test before starting treatment with TAGRISSO. You should use effective birth control (contraception) during treatment with TAGRISSO and for 6 weeks after the final dose of TAGRISSO. Males who have female partners that are able to become pregnant should use effective birth control during treatment with TAGRISSO and for 4 months after the final dose of TAGRISSO.
