Synvisc One is a viscoelastic. It’s similar to a substance that’s naturally found in the connective tissues in your body. When it’s injected into the knee, it helps lubricate your knee joint so that you can move it smoothly. This can reduce pain from osteoarthritis in your knee.

How do I take Synvisc One?

Synvisc One is injected intraarticularly into your knee once weekly for 1 to 5 weeks.

Is it safe for me to take Synvisc One?

Synvisc One is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. Do not administer to patients with known hypersensitivity (allergy) to hyaluronan (sodium hyaluronate) preparations. Do not inject SYNVISC-ONE in the knees of patients having knee joint infections or skin diseases or infections in the area of the injection site.
