How do I take SYNVISC?
SYNVISC is administered by intra-articular injection once a week (one week apart) for a total of three injections.
Is it safe for me to take SYNVISC?
SYNVISC is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. Do not administer to patients with known hypersensitivity (allergy) to hyaluronan (sodium hyaluronate) preparations. Do not inject SYNVISC
in the knees of patients having knee joint infections or skin diseases or infections in the area of the injection site.

Common side effects of SYNVISC:
- Joint pain and swelling
- Back pain
- Muscle and bone pain
- Injection site reaction (redness, swelling)
SYNVISC Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with SYNVISC. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Severe allergic reaction: rash, trouble breathing, swelling of lips, tongue, or throat
