Rimegepant is a calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor blocker and is used for the following:
Short-term treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults
Prevention of migraines in adults

Rimegepant is a calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor blocker, which means it blocks CGRP receptors in the brain to prevent certain cellular processes that are thought to be involved with causing migraines. This can also help stop migraine pain and any inflammation (swelling) in your brain.

Rimegepant is dosed as follows:

• Acute treatment of migraine: The typical dose is 75 mg placed on top of or under your tongue as needed when you have a migraine attack. Don’t take more than 75 mg in one day
• Prevention of migraine: The typical dose is 75 mg placed on top of or under your tongue every other day

Rimegepant is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you.

Common side effects of Rimegepant:

• Nausea
• Stomach pain or indigestion

The following medications may interact with Rimegepant:

• Strong CYP3A4 Inhibitors: Avoid concomitant administration
• Moderate CYP3A4 Inhibitors: Avoid another dose within 48 hours when administered with a moderate CYP3A4 inhibitor
• Strong and Moderate CYP3A Inducers: Avoid concomitant administration
• Potent Inhibitors of P-gp: Avoid another dose of Rimegepant within 48 hours when administered with a potent P-gp inhibitor

The study is named MONITOR (Migraine Observational NURTEC Pregnancy Registry). A registry is a study.
