Pegfilgrastim-Bmez is a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). It works like the G-CSF protein that you naturally have in your body. G-CSF stimulates (triggers) your bone marrow to make neutrophils, a type of white blood cell that helps your body fight infections.
How do I take Pegfilgrastim-Bmez?
Pegfilgrastim-Bmez is typically dosed as follows:
- 6 mg given subcutaneously once per chemotherapy cycle
- Do not administer between 14 days before and 24 hours after administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy
- Use weight based dosing for pediatric patients weighing less than 45 kg
