NUEDEXTA is a combination medication that is used to treat pseudobulbar affect (PBA). PBA occurs secondary to a variety of otherwise unrelated neurologic conditions, and is characterized by involuntary, sudden, and frequent episodes of laughing and/or crying.
How does NUEDEXTA work?
NUEDEXTA has 2 medications. Dextromethorphan bromide balances out certain chemicals in the brain that affect mood and behavior while quinidine helps prevent dextromethorphan from being broken down too quickly in the body.
How do I take NUEDEXTA?
NUEDEXTA is typically taken once daily for 1 week and then increased to 1 tablet every 12 hours.
