Neomycin is a combination of two antibiotics and a corticosteroid. Neomycin and polymyxin B are antibiotics that kill bacteria by stopping them from growing. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that lowers swelling and itching.
How do I take Neomycin?
Neomycin cream and ointment should be applied 2 to 4 times daily. Neomycin otic solution is given as 4 drops into the affected ear(s) 3 or 4 times a day. Neomycin eye drops are given as 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 3 or 4 hours.
