Myhibbin (mycophenolate mofetil) is an oral suspension used to prevent organ rejection after certain transplants.

Myhibbin is available as a 200 mg/mL oral suspension.

Myhibbin is an antimetabolite immunosuppressant used to prevent organ rejection in adult and pediatric recipients 3 months of age and older with kidney, heart or liver transplants, in combination with other immunosuppressants.

Myhibbin is an antimetabolite immunosuppressant that is converted to its active form (mycophenolic acid) inside the body and it has many different ways of working to prevent organ rejection.

For adults, 1 g to 1.5 g Myhibbin is taken by mouth twice daily. Pediatric dosing is based on body surface area (BSA) and is taken twice daily. Your dose may be adjusted if you have kidney impairment or neutropenia.

Myhibbin is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA approved indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not take this medication if you are allergic to mycophenolate mofetil, mycophenolic acid, polysorbate 80 or any component of the drug product.

Common side effects of Myhibbin: Diarrhea, Leukopenia, Infections, Vomiting

Serious side effects are rare with Myhibbin. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following: Increased risk of cancer (such as lymphoma, skin cancer): swollen glands, sudden weight loss, night sweats, change in appearance or size of moles, or unusual skin changes/growth Serious eye symptoms: sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye painor swelling, or seeing halos around lights Serious heart symptoms: fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats; fluttering in your chest; shortness of breath; and sudden dizziness, light headedness, or passing out Serious stomach problems: bleeding, ulcers, perforations (holes)

The following medications may interact with Myhibbin: Oral contraceptives: Use of additional barrier contraceptive methods is recommended. Antacids: Give magnesium or aluminum hydroxide containing antacids at least 2h after Myhibbin. PPIs (lansoprazole, pantoprazole): May decrease the effectiveness of Myhibbin. Cyclosporine A, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, bile acid sequestrants (cholestyramine), rifampin as well as aminoglycoside, cephalosporin, fluoroquinolone, telmisartan, sevelamer and penicillins can decrease the effectiveness of Myhibbin.

The use of Myhibbin during pregnancy is associated with an increased risk of first trimester pregnancy loss and an increased risk of birth defects. You must use an acceptable form of birth control during the entire Myhibbin therapy and for 6 weeks after stopping this medication, unless the patient chooses abstinence. Myhibbin may reduce effectiveness of oral contraceptives. Use of additional barrier contraceptive methods is recommended.
