Marstacimab-Hncq is a tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) antagonist. It works by blocking TFPI, a natural anticoagulant protein that typically prevents the body from forming blood clots efficiently. By inhibiting TFPI, Marstacimab-Hncq rebalances the body’s clotting system, allowing for better blood clot formation and thus reducing bleeding frequency, without replacing the missing factors VIII or IX.
How do I take Marstacimab-Hncq?
The recommended dosage of Marstacimab-Hncq is:
- Loading dose: 300 mg (two 150 mg injections) by subcutaneous injection
- Maintenance dose: One week after the loading dose, initiate maintenance dosing of 150 mg every week by subcutaneous injection on the same day each week, at any time of day.
- Dose adjustment to 300 mg subcutaneous injection weekly can be considered.
