How do I take Leucovorin Calcium?
Leucovorin Calcium is typically dosed as follows:
- Antidote: 15mg (1 tablet) every 6 hours for 48 hours. Leucovorin Calcium for leucovorin rescue therapy is usually started 24 hours after the start of methotrexate treatment.
- Megaloblastic anaemia: 15mg (1 tablet) once daily.

Serious side effects are rare with Leucovorin Calcium. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following:
- Sudden wheeziness, difficulty in breathing, swelling of eyelids, face or lips, rash or itching
- Decreased white blood cell count or low platelets if Leucovorin Calcium is given with fluorouracil (to treat cancer)
