How does Leqvio work?
Leqvio is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) medication. It gets absorbed into your liver and breaks down the gene that makes a protein called PCSK9. Normally, PCSK9 helps adjust the amount of cholesterol in your body. By stopping your liver from making PCSK9, Leqvio helps your liver remove “bad” cholesterol (LDL, or low-density lipoprotein) from your body.
How do I take Leqvio?
The typical dose of Leqvio is 284 mg injected under the skin every 3 months for 2 doses, then given every 6 months thereafter.
