What is lanadelumab-flyo used for?
lanadelumab-flyo is a plasma kallikrein inhibitor and is used to prevent HAE attacks in people 12 years and older.
How does lanadelumab-flyo work?
lanadelumab-flyo is a monoclonal antibody that’s in a group of medications called plasma kallikrein inhibitors. It blocks the activity of a protein in your blood called plasma kallikrein. Plasma kallikrein is more active in people with hereditary angioedema (HAE) and raises the production of bradykinin, a substance that’s responsible for pain and swelling. By lowering plasma kallikrein activity, lanadelumab-flyo can help prevent pain and swelling attacks in people with HAE.
How do I take lanadelumab-flyo?
lanadelumab-flyo is typically started at 300 mg injected under the skin every 2 or 4 weeks.
