How does Kynmobi work?
Kynmobi is a non-ergoline dopamine agonist. It’s not exactly known how the medication helps with movement problems caused by Parkinson’s disease, but it’s thought to work by activating (turning on) dopamine receptors in the part of your brain involved with movement.
How do I take Kynmobi?
The typical starting dose of Kynmobi is 10 mg dissolved under the tongue on an as-needed basis, up to 5 times per day. Don’t take more than 30 mg in a single dose. You can take another dose after at least 2 hours, but don’t take more than 1 dose for the same “off” episode.
Is it safe for me to take Kynmobi?
Kynmobi is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication in the following:
- Concomitant use of a 5HT3 antagonist
- Hypersensitivity to apomorphine or any of its ingredients including sodium metabisulfite

Common side effects of Kynmobi:
- Nausea
- Mouth and lip swelling
- Mouth and throat pain and tingling sensation
- Sleepiness
- Dizziness
Kynmobi Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with Kynmobi. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following:
- Allergic reaction: hives, rash, blisters, skin reddening, swelling of the lips or tongue, difficulty breathing
- Abnormal heart rhythm: chest pounding, chest pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, feeling faint or lightheaded, irregular heartbeat
- Prolonged erection (erection lasting longer than 4 hours)
