Kesimpta is a monoclonal antibody. It’s not exactly known how the medication works. But it’s thought to treat MS by preventing certain immune cells in your body from attacking the coverings on your nerve cells by mistake. This might help ease symptoms of MS.
How do I take Kesimpta?
The typical starting dose of Kesimpta is to inject 20 mg of Kesimpta (ofatumumab) under the skin once a week for 3 weeks. Starting from week 4, the typical maintenance dose is to inject 20 mg once a month.
Is it safe for me to take Kesimpta?
Kesimpta is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication if you have an active HBV infection.

Common side effects of Kesimpta:

- Pain while urinating and other symptoms of an urinary tract infections

Serious side effects are rare with Kesimpta. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Serious infections: fever, tiredness, chills, cough, trouble breathing
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Kesimpta
The following medications may interact with Kesimpta:
- Concomitant usage of Kesimpta with immunosuppressant drugs, including systemic corticosteroids, may increase the risk of infection Consider the risk of additive immune system effects when coadministering immunosuppressive therapies with Kesimpta
- When switching from therapies with immune effects, the duration and mechanism of action of these therapies should be taken into account because of potential additive immunosuppressive effects when initiating Kesimpta

Is Kesimpta safe in pregnancy?
It is not known if Kesimpta will harm your unborn baby. Females who can become pregnant should use birth control (contraception) during treatment with Kesimpta and for 6 months after your last treatment.
