How does Halaven work?
Halaven is a microtubule inhibitor. It works by stopping microtubules in the body’s cells from working. When the medication blocks the microtubules in cancer cells, the cells can’t grow as easily and can die off.
How do I take Halaven?
Administer 1.4 mg/m2 of Halaven intravenously over 2 to 5 minutes on Days 1 and 8 of a 21-day cycle.

- Abnormal heart rhythms: new pounding or fluttering heartbeat, lightheadedness, dizziness, chest pain

Is Halaven safe in pregnancy?
Halaven can harm your unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant or think you are pregnant during treatment. Females who are able to become pregnant should use an effective birth control during treatment and for at least 2 weeks after the final dose. Males should use an effective form of birth control when having sex with female partners who are able to become pregnant during treatment and for 3 1/2 months (14 weeks) after the final dose.
