DELTASONE is available as a 1 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, and 50 mg oral tablet as well as a 5 mg/5 ml oral solution.
What is DELTASONE used for?
DELTASONE is a corticosteroid and is used to treat allergies or allergic reactions, skin conditions, conditions affecting certain hormones (e.g., low adrenal hormones), eye conditions, lung conditions, gut conditions (e.g., ulcerative colitis), conditions related to blood cells, certain cancers (e.g., leukemia), nervous system conditions (e.g., multiple sclerosis), joint conditions (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis), and lupus.
How does DELTASONE work?
DELTASONE is a corticosteroid. It’s a lab-made medication that’s similar to cortisol, a natural stress hormone your body makes. DELTASONE works by calming down your body’s immune response that otherwise would cause you pain and discomfort (e.g., itching, redness, swelling).
How do I take DELTASONE?
DELTASONE is typically taken by mouth and the dose ranges from 5 mg to 60 mg by mouth per day, depending on the condition being treated.

DELTASONE is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. It is not known if DELTASONE will harm your unborn baby. If you become pregnant while receiving DELTASONE, talk to your healthcare provider. Infants born of mothers who have received substantial doses of corticosteroids during pregnancy should be carefully observed for signs of hypoadrenalism.
