How do I take Brintellix?
The recommended starting dose is 10 mg by mouth once daily without regard to meals. The dose should then be increased to 20 mg/day, as tolerated. Consider 5 mg/day for patients who do not tolerate higher doses.
Is it safe for me to take Brintellix?
Trintellix is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication in the following:
- Take a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within 21 days of Trintellix
- Hypersensitivity to vortioxetine or any components of the product

- Serious bleeding: dizziness, pale skin, feeling weak, getting nosebleeds often, bleeding that’s hard to stop, bruising that won’t go away, vomiting blood, black and tarry stool

Trintellix may harm your unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you become pregnant or think you are pregnant during treatment
