- Heart problems: dizziness, fatigue, tremor, nausea, rapid heartbeat, weakness, or difficulty sleeping
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Advair HFA
The following medications may interact with Advair HFA:
- Beta-blockers may decrease effectiveness of salmeterol and produce severe bronchospasm
- Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants may potentiate effect of salmeterol on the cardiovascular system
- strong cytochrome P450 3A4 inhibitors such as ritonavir, ketoconazole can increse the risk of cardiovascular effects. diuretics, or non-potassium sparing diuretics may potentiate hypokalemia or ECG changes
