Zilucoplan is available as 16.6 mg/0.416 mL, 23 mg/0.574 mL, or 32.4 mg/0.81 mL of Zilucoplan in single-dose prefilled syringes.
What is Zilucoplan used for?
Zilucoplan is a complement inhibitor indicated for the treatment of generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) in adult patients with anti-AChR antibodies.
How does Zilucoplan work?
Zilucoplan is a complement inhibitor. The exact way that the medication works isn’t clear, but it’s thought to prevent breakdown of complement proteins. These complement proteins, which are part of the immune system, are activated by harmful antibodies (anti-Ach antibodies) to disrupt communication between nerves and muscles. By blocking these proteins, Zilucoplan helps to ease gMG symptoms and improve the ability to perform daily living, like walking or speaking.
