Uceris is a corticosteroid. It’s applied rectally or taken orally to lower inflammation in the rectum and colon. This can help heal ulcers and ease bloody diarrhea.
How do I take Uceris?
Uceris is dosed as follows:
- Each pump of Uceris rectal foam contains 2 mg of budesonide
- Adults: Apply 1 pump into the rectum in the morning and evening (at bedtime) for 2 weeks. Then, apply 1 pump into the rectum once daily at bedtime for 4 more weeks.
- For oral tablets: The recommended dosage for the induction of remission in adult patients with active, mild to moderate ulcerative colitis is one 9 mg tablet to be taken once daily in the morning with or without food for up to 8 weeks
