Stribild is a 4 drug combination that is used to treat HIV-1 infection in adult patients.
How does Stribild work?
Stribild contains an integrase inhibitor (elvitegravir) and two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) (emtricitabine, tenofovir). These 3 medications work together to prevent the virus from making copies of itself in your body. The booster medication (cobicistat) slows the metabolism of elvitegravir (Vitekta) and raises the level in the body.
How do I take Stribild?
The typical dose of Stribild is one tablet by mouth once daily with food.

Stribild is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. Coadministration of Stribild is contraindicated with drugs that are highly dependent on CYP3A for clearance and drugs that strongly induce CYP3A.
