Pulmicort Flexhaler is typically dosed as follows:
Patients 18 Years of Age and Older: For patients 18 years of age and older,
the recommended starting dosage is 360 mcg twice daily. In some adultpatients, a starting dose of 180 mcg twice daily may be adequate. The maximum dosage should not exceed 720 mcg twice daily. (2.1)
Patients 6 to 17 Years of Age: The recommended starting dosage is 180 mcg twice daily. In some pediatric patients, a starting dose of 360 mcg twice daily may be appropriate. The maximum dosage should not exceed 360 mcg twice daily.

Pulmicort Flexhaler is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. Primary treatment of status asthmaticus or other acute episodes of
asthma where intensive measures are required.
Severe hypersensitivity to milk proteins and any of the ingredients in
Pulmicort Flexhaler.

Common side effects of Pulmicort Flexhaler:
- Cold

- Sore throat
- Allergic rhinitis (hay fever)

Pulmicort Flexhaler Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with Pulmicort Flexhaler. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
Call your doctor or go to the ER if you experience status asthmaticus (when asthma attacks follow one another without pause) or other acute episodes of asthma requiring immediate attention.
If you have hypersensitivity to milk proteins please let your doctor know as you can develop serious allergic reactions to Pulmicort Flexhaler.
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Pulmicort Flexhaler
The following medications may interact with Pulmicort Flexhaler:
- Strong cytochrome P450 3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ritonavir): Use with
- caution. May cause increased systemic corticosteroid effects.
