The recommended dosage of Pivya is one 185 mg tablet orally 3 times a day for 3 to 7 days with or without food.

Pivya is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA approved indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following: Severe allergic reactions: swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, hives, trouble breathing Severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCAR): fever, sore throat, pink eye, facial swelling, skin peeling and blistering, rash, skin discoloration, fatigue, flu-like symptoms Low caratine levels: low blood sugar, muscle aches, fatigue, and confusion Porphyria: anxiety, confusion, limb or abdominal pain, low sodium levels, seizures, and muscle weakness C difficile-associated diarrhea (CDAD)
