NOVOLOG MIX 70/30 is injected underneath the skin (subcutaneously) twice per day. The number of units of insulin is different for each person. It depends on if you are using it for type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes, your weight, how well you respond to insulin, and your blood sugar levels. - Drugs that may decrease the blood glucose lowering effect: atypical antipsychotics, corticosteroids, danazol, diuretics estrogens, glucagon, isoniazid, niacin, oral contraceptives phenothiazines, progestogens (e.g., in oral contraceptives) protease inhibitors, somatropin, sympathomimetic agents (e.g. albuterol, epinephrine, terbutaline), and thyroid hormones
- Drugs that may increase or decrease the blood glucose lowering effect: alcohol, beta-blockers, clonidine, lithium salts, and pentamidine
