What is Natpara?

Natpara is the brand name for parathyroid hormone and is available as a subcutaneous injection.

What dosages is Natpara available in?

Natpara is available in strengths of 25 mcg, 50 mcg, 75 mcg, or 100 mcg.

What is Natpara used for?

Natpara is used to treat low blood calcium levels (hypocalcemia) in people with hypoparathyroidism (low levels of parathyroid hormone).

How does Natpara work?

Natpara is a man-made version of parathyroid hormone (PTH); it raises your calcium levels by working on your kidneys, intestines, and bones.

How do I take Natpara?

The starting dose of Natpara is 50 mcg injected subcutaneously (under your skin) in the thigh once daily.

Is it safe for me to take Natpara?

Natpara is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication in the following:

    Cannot speak highly enough of the service and assistance I have received from NowPatient. I was dealing with a very kind and helpful clinician who couldn't do enough to assist.
