How does INTELENCE work?
INTELENCE is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI). It blocks an enzyme found in HIV called reverse transcriptase that usually helps the virus make copies of itself. By blocking reverse transcriptase, INTELENCE prevents the HIV virus from doing so and from spreading.

Is INTELENCE safe in pregnancy?
It is not known if INTELENCE can harm your unborn baby. It should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
