How does IMDUR work?
IMDUR is a nitrate vasodilator. It helps relax your blood vessels. This makes it easier for your heart to pump, relieving heart-related chest pain.
How do I take IMDUR?
IMDUR is typically dosed as 30 mg or 60 mg by mouth once daily in the morning. It can be increased up to a maximum of 240 mg once daily.
Is it safe for me to take IMDUR?
IMDUR is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication if you have a hypersensitivity or idiosyncratic reactions to other nitrates or nitrites.

IMDUR Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with IMDUR. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following:
- Overdose: confusion, blurred vision or changes in vision, heart palpitations, feeling like you’re going to pass out (especially when standing up)
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on IMDUR
The following medications may interact with IMDUR:
- The vasodilating effects of isosorbide mononitrate may be additive with those of other vasodilators. Alcohol, in particular, has been found to exhibit additive effects of this variety
- Marked symptomatic orthostatic hypotension has been reported when calcium channel blockers and organic nitrates were used in combination. Dose adjustments of either class of agents may be necessary
