No. Now Patient does not provide ezetimibe coupons or FREE ezetimibe samples.

Do you accept commercial, Medicare or Medicaid coverage for ezetimibe in the US?

No. Currently, we only offer cash-based options for purchase, therefore we do not require your insurance benefit details. In the future, our plan is to be able to handle commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid including cases where you have multiple health plans that provide benefit coverage (e.g. Medicaid and Commercial). What should you do if you use too much ezetimibe?


Call your doctor right away or seek immediate medical attention if your symptoms do not improve or they become worse after using ezetimibe. You can also call 800-222-1222 to reach the American Association of Poison Control Centers or use its online resource if you think you’ve used too much ezetimibe. But if you have severe symptoms, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.

Ezetimibe is a cholesterol absorption inhibitor used for the treatment of high cholesterol levels (hypercholesterolemia) in the blood. Ezetimibe may be prescribed as monotherapy or in combination with other triglyceride and blood cholesterol-lowering medications, such as fenofibrate, or statin therapy such as atorvastatin, simvastatin, or fluvastatin to help lower cholesterol levels. Reducing cholesterol and high blood lipids (hyperlipidemia) helps to reduce the risk of angina, strokes, heart disease and heart attacks in patients with chronic kidney disease and certain heart problems

How does ezetimibe work?

Ezetimibe works by reducing the absorption of cholesterol from the diet in the small intestine. It inhibits a protein called NPC1L1, which is responsible for the uptake of cholesterol from the intestine into the bloodstream. Ezetimibe was shown to reduce LDL cholesterol levels (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol) and increase HDL levels.

Take medication such as cholestyramine, colesevelam, or colestipol 4 hours before or 2 hours after ezetimibe. Symptoms include hives, trouble breathing, shortness of breath, chest pain, swelling of your face, tongue or throat, skin rash, and blistering or peeling of the skin. Ezetimibe may interact with certain medications, including anticoagulants such as warfarin, cyclosporine, and gemfibrozil.
