Evinacumab-Dgnb is a monoclonal antibody that treats homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH), a rare genetic condition that causes extremely high cholesterol levels.
How does Evinacumab-Dgnb work?
Evinacumab-Dgnb is a monoclonal antibody that works as an angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3) inhibitor. ANGPTL3 is a protein in your liver that normally stops your body from getting rid of triglycerides (fat) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL, also known as “bad” cholesterol). By blocking the ANGPTL3 protein, Evinacumab-Dgnb allows your body to break down and remove triglycerides and LDL.
How do I take Evinacumab-Dgnb?
The recommended dosage of Evinacumab-Dgnb is 15 mg/kg administered by intravenous (IV) infusion once monthly (every 4 weeks).
