EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR – AMNEAL is available as a 0.3 mg (0.3 mg/0.3 mL) or 0.15 mg (0.15 mg/0.15 mL) single-dose pre-filled auto-injector.
What is EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR – AMNEAL used for?
EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR – AMNEAL is an adrenergic receptor agonist and is used to treat severe allergic reactions (e.g., anaphylaxis).
How does EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR – AMNEAL work?
EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR – AMNEAL is a non-selective alpha- and beta-adrenergic receptor agonist that acts on receptors throughout the body. In doing so, it keeps your blood pressure from dropping too low, raises your heart rate, and opens your lungs so you can breathe normally. It also helps with swelling, itching, rashes, hives, and stomach issues linked to an allergic reaction.
How do I take EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR – AMNEAL?
EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR – AMNEAL is dosed as follows:
- Your provider will prescribe EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR – AMNEAL based on your body weight
- You can inject the medication into the muscle or under the skin in the middle of the outer thigh (even through clothing) when you feel an allergic reaction. Call 911. While you’re waiting for help to arrive, you can repeat the dose if symptoms don’t go away
- 66 lbs or more: The typical dose is 0.3 mg
- 33 lbs to 66 lbs: The typical dose is 0.15 mg

- Irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmias): fatigue, weakness, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain, sweating
High blood pressure: headache, chest pain, dizziness, blurry vision - Serious infection at injection site: skin redness, tenderness, swelling, warmth

The following medications may interact with EPINEPHRINE AUTO-INJECTOR – AMNEAL:
- Cardiac Glycosides, Diuretics, and Anti-arrhythmics: Patients who receive epinephrine while concomitantly taking cardiac glycosides, diuretics, or anti-arrhythmics should be observed carefully for the development of cardiac arrhythmias
- Antidepressants, Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors, Levothyroxine, and Antihistamines: The effects of epinephrine may be potentiated by tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, levothyroxine sodium, and certain antihistamines, notably chlorpheniramine, tripelennamine, and diphenhydramine
- Beta-Adrenergic Blockers: The cardiostimulating and bronchodilating effects of epinephrine are antagonized by beta- adrenergic blocking drugs, such as propranolol
- Alpha-Adrenergic Blockers: The vasoconstricting and hypertensive effects of epinephrine are antagonized by alpha-adrenergic blocking drugs, such as phentolamine
- Ergot Alkaloids: Ergot alkaloids may also reverse the pressor effects of epinephrine
