How does DUAC work?
DUAC is a combination of two medications that are applied to the skin to treat acne. Clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide are both antibiotics that work together to stop the growth of acne-causing bacteria. Benzoyl peroxide also helps remove old skin by causing skin to shed and peel, which is good for clearing up acne.
How do I take DUAC?
DUAC is typically applied as a pea-sized amount to the affected area(s) on the face once daily.
Is it safe for me to take DUAC?
DUAC is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not take this medication if you have a known hypersensitivity to any of its components or to lincomycin. It is also contraindicated in those having a history of regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis, or antibiotic-associated colitis.

Common side effects of DUAC include:
- Pain at site of application
- Skin shedding
- Skin irritation
- Redness
- Itching
- Burning
- Stinging
DUAC Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with DUAC. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following. Inflammation of your large intestine: diarrhea that does not go away, especially if it is bloody, severe stomach cramps
