How do I take Dexlansoprazole?
Dexlansoprazole is dosed as follows:
- Treatment of inflamed esophagus: The typical dose is 60 mg by mouth once daily for up to 2 months
- Heartburn relief and maintenance of healed inflamed esophagus: The typical dose is 30 mg by mouth once daily for up to 6 months in adults and up to 4 months for children
- GERD: The typical dose is 30 mg by mouth once daily for up to 1 month
Your dose of Dexlansoprazole might differ if you have liver problems.

Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Dexlansoprazole
The following medications may interact with Dexlansoprazole:
- Atazanavir: Do not co-administer with Dexlansoprazole because atazanavir systemic concentrations may be substantially decreased
- Drugs with pH-dependent absorption (e.g., Ampicillin esters Digoxin, iron salts, ketoconazole): Dexlansoprazole may interfere with absorption of drugs for which gastric pH is important for bioavailability
- Warfarin: Patients taking concomitant warfarin may require monitoring for increases in international normalized ratio (INR) and prothrombin time
- Tacrolimus: Concomitant tacrolimus use may increase tacrolimus whole blood concentrations
- Methotrexate: Dexlansoprazole may increase serum levels of
- methotrexate
