What is Ciltacabtagene Autoleucel used for?
Ciltacabtagene Autoleucel is a type of immunotherapy used to treat advanced multiple myeloma in adults.
How does Ciltacabtagene Autoleucel work?
Ciltacabtagene Autoleucel is a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, or CAR-T therapy. With this treatment, your T-cells are removed from your body and sent to a lab. They are then modified to find and attack the multiple myeloma cancer cells in your body. Once this is done, the T-cells are infused back into your body to kill the cancer cells.
How do I take Ciltacabtagene Autoleucel?
Once your immune cells are collected and modified, you will be given a regimen of fludarabine and cyclophosphamide. Prior to the infusion you will be pretreated with acetaminophen and an H1 antihistamine. Your providerr will then infuse Ciltacabtagene Autoleucel into the vein as a one-time infusion over 30 to 60 minutes.
