Our website gives two competitive savings options to US customers who wish to purchase ciclopirox, as either a brand or generic, if available. The first is access to medications through our mail-order online pharmacy. The second is by using the Now Patient Rx Advantage Card, which can be used in over 65,000 pharmacies nationwide, across America. If you are insured, then in most cases, the cash price will be significantly cheaper than the copay.

Is Now Patient a ciclopirox coupon provider in the US?

No. Now Patient does not provide ciclopirox coupons or FREE ciclopirox samples.

Do you accept commercial, Medicare or Medicaid coverage for ciclopirox in the US?

No. Currently, we only offer cash-based options for purchase, therefore we do not require your insurance benefit details. In the future, our plan is to be able to handle commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid including cases where you have multiple health plans that provide benefit coverage (e.g. Medicaid and Commercial). We also anticipate being able to handle more complex scenarios such as using primary insurance combined with a manufacturer copay assistance program.

Does Now Patient work with Medicare?

Our cash-based prices for medications are typically cheaper than Medicare copays. We do not bill Medicare Part D (standalone drug coverage) or Medicare Advantage (combined health and drug coverage). What should you do if you use too much ciclopirox?


Call your doctor right away or seek immediate medical attention if your symptoms do not improve or they become worse after using ciclopirox. You can also call 800-222-1222 to reach the American Association of Poison Control Centers or use its online resource if you think you’ve used too much ciclopirox. But if you have severe symptoms, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss my dose?

Mechanism of action

Ciclopirox is a topical antifungal agent. It works by interfering with the synthesis of fungal cell components, disrupting the normal functioning of the fungal cells and leading to their death.

Uses of ciclopirox

Ciclopirox olamine is primarily used for the treatment of fungal infections of the toenails (onychomycosis) and skin, including athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch, and ringworm (tinea corporis), caused by Trichophyton rubrum. It is available in different dosage forms, such as a topical cream, lotion, and nail lacquer, to suit the specific area of the body being treated. Ciclopirox shampoo or gel may be used on the scalp for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis.

Dosage of ciclopirox

The dosage of ciclopirox will depend on the specific formulation and indication. It is important to follow the medical advice provided by a healthcare professional and the product labeling. Typically, ciclopirox cream or lotion is applied to the affected area once or twice daily, while ciclopirox nail lacquer is applied to the affected nails once daily. Use nail clippers and a nail file to remove any loose nail material or nail polish before staring treatment.

Precautions and warnings for ciclopirox

  • Ciclopirox is for external use only and should not be ingested or used in the eyes or mucous membranes
  • Tell your healthcare provider if you have had an allergic reaction to ciclopirox in the past
  • If there is no improvement in your condition after a certain period of treatment, consult your healthcare provider
