brigatinib is a targeted anticancer medication that blocks a protein called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) made by the ALK gene. In people with ALK-positive NSCLC, this gene doesn’t work like it should. It ends up making abnormal proteins and causing cancer. By blocking the abnormal ALK protein, brigatinib can help slow or stop the spread of NSCLC cells that are ALK-positive.

  • Serious liver problems: feeling very tired, nausea, vomiting, itchy skin, yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin, stomach pain and swelling, swelling in the legs or ankles, dark-colored urine, pale-colored stool

  • CYP3A Inducers: Avoid coadministration of brigatinib with strong or moderate CYP3A inducers. If coadministration of a moderate CYP3A inducer is unavoidable, increase the dose of brigatinib

brigatinib can harm your unborn baby. Your healthcare provider will determine whether or not you are pregnant before you start treatment with brigatinib. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you become pregnant during treatment with brigatinib or think you may be pregnant.
o Females who are able to become pregnant should use effective non-hormonal birth control during treatment
with brigatinib and for at least 4 months after the final dose of brigatinib. Birth control pills (oral contraceptives) and other hormonal forms of birth control may not be effective if used during treatment with brigatinib. Talk to your healthcare provider about birth control choices that are right for you during treatment with brigatinib. Males who have female partners that are able to become pregnant should use effective birth control during treatment with brigatinib and for at least 3 months after the final dose of brigatinib.
