ALTACE Uses, Side Effects, Interactions, Warnings & Dosing
What is ALTACE?
ALTACE is the brand name for ramipril and is available as an oral capsule.
What dosages is ALTACE available in?
ALTACE is available as a 1.25 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg capsule.
What is ALTACE used for?
ALTACE is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure after a heart attack.
How does ALTACE work?
ALTACE is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It blocks ACE, a protein in your body that tightens blood vessels. In doing so, ramipril relaxes your blood vessels and causes your blood pressure to go down.

Is it safe for me to take ALTACE?
ALTACE is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. It should not be taken if you experienced angioedema related to previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor, or you have a history of hereditary or idiopathic angioedema. You should also not take ALTACE along with sacubitril or aliskiren (if you are diabetic).

The following medications may interact with ALTACE:
- Diuretics – Possibility of excessive hypotension
